Can you see the child's pose?

Inspired by the Australian Aborigines

It was incredibly HOT ¬†and humid in July. It interrupted my creative flow so I only created 2 paintings that will be part of this series. Interestingly I got started on a couple of other creative endeavors. I am one of those people who doesn’t like to paint or draw something if it isn’t going to turn out. It sounds crazy but it is true. I can’t possibly expect everything to turn out but I have to think it will before attempting it. Perfectionism I figured out has more to do with ‘fear’ than to do something just so – this would be “excellence”. So put together a few pages of good old construction paper and made a mini-book (journal of sorts). I allowed myself to do whatever and if it wouldn’t turn out – so what I can always throw it out. That little exercise was great to let the creative juices flowing once again. I had sketched pieces that were inspired by the Australian Aborigines and started painting that series as well. I thought at first that it was distracting me from the Art Prana series, instead I started noticing a transference of ideas coming through. It is amazing what happens when we let ourselves “just BE”.
